This scholarship honors Cornelia Fort, the first female flight instructor in Nashville, by awarding $1,000 to be used for flight training.
The Nashville Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is offering the Cornelia Fort Scholarship to honor the Nashville native and first female fight instructor in the area. Cornelia Clark Fort was an aviator famously known for witnessing the bombing of Pearl Harbor during World War II while flight instructing, being the second member to be accepted into the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (the precursor to WASP), and being the first female pilot to give her life during her service for our country.
This scholarship is to assist a woman towards a career in the aviation field by providing $1,000 towards flight training. The money can be used towards any rating or certificate.
The deadline for applications has closed.
To be eligible, you must be:
1. A female and at least 18 years old.
2. A current member of the International Ninety-Nines prior to, or on the date that the scholarship application is dated and signed.
3. Living in, or be a permanent resident of the state of Tennessee.

The Written Test Scholarship supports female pilots who are taking steps to achieve their goals in aviation by awarding up to $175 for any FAA written test.
The Nashville Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is offering the Written Test Scholarship to support female pilots who are taking the steps forward in order to obtain their goals in aviation. The $175 award can be applied toward any FAA written test.
The deadline for applications has closed.
To be eligible, you must be:
1. A female and at least 18 years old.
2. A current member of the International Ninety-Nines prior to, or on the date that the
scholarship application is dated and signed.
3. Living in, or be a permanent resident of the state of Tennessee.
4. Must not have taken the written test in which you are applying to prior to award being given.
